Sonic x Shadow Generations officially announced
Out in time for the film.
Sonic x Shadow Generations was officially announced at tonight's PlayStation State of Play.
A remastered version of the 2011 game was rumoured to appear, but Shadow adds a welcome twist.
Generations featured 2D and 3D levels in a nod to both modern and classic Sonic. Now that game will be completely remastered, plus we'll get a brand new Shadow campaign including new abilities. It's set to release in autumn this year.
Tonight's trailer was only a quick look, but showed Shadow racing through darker city levels inspired by Sonic Adventure 2 and the Shadow the Hedgehog game - minus the guns. It looks like that game's villain, Black Doom, will make an appearance.

It's certainly good timing ahead of the third Sonic the Hedgehog film due out in December that's set to feature Shadow.
Sonic x Shadow Generations follows Sonic Superstars and Sonic Dream Team from last year.
To celebrate this new announcement, a Shadow skin will be available in Sonic Superstars from 15th February.
Sonic x Shadow Generations will release on PlayStation consoles, as well as Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic).
